14th Feb 2010 is a very special occasion - it is Valentine's Day and as well the beginning of the year of Tiger on Chinese calender. So how did you spend the day? Be with your significant other or your beloved family? No matter which one you pick, I am quite sure we all spent the day with LOVE.
These is something I learnt from church on Sunday morning - nothing really matter if there isn't love. You may say - there aren't love for me as I'm S-I-N-G-L-E. Let me proof you wrong! Do you give up on work or do you stop celebrating your birthday just because you're single? There is always this courage for us to hang on during the difficult times and always reason for us to celebrate during festive seasons.. There's always 'SOMETHING' to keep the ball rolling. Be it your passion on your job or be it the happy memories you share with friends and family - they are all the L word.
I have mixed feelings for valentine's day at some point cause it's happy to see couples holding hands on the street but I engrave no name on my heart. And it's even more frustrating when there isn't even anyone I have a crush on. I could have yelled and moan for hours about how miserably lonely I am, yet, instead of putting on a crying face, I manage to make chocolate for my friends - just to spread to love.
If you're not a fan of kitchen work, try spend it with your family. Try not to picture it like Bidget Jones' lonely night - there's nothing to be shamed of staying in a have a cosy evening watching your favourite movie with them!
So how did I spend the day? I did a bit of both on the above! I had a wonderful lunch with family then a night out with my close friends - yes, a group of 'lonely hearts'. Yet, we weren't THAT lonely because we have each others stuck around... we held our cocktail glasses, held our head high and laughed. Yes, we are all happily in love.
Afterall, it's better to celebrate the day with a large bunch than with just ONE.
